5Wonderful Kilt – Great Improvement
By K. W. Johnson
This kilt is a revision of the “Mountain Kilt” by Mountain Gear. I loved the first edition (bought 4) and this is actually an improvement. First, it looks more like a kilt and less like a skirt than the older model! (Not that that’s a huge problem.) The new addition of pleats adds the “kilt look and feel” to this product. The material (a relatively heavy brushed nylon)l seems more rugged than the previous model too. I like the color “otter” – looks like military olive green. It doesn’t draw as much attention as its tartan cousins. “Oh, I just realized, you’re wearing a kilt!” And, there are now two relatively large cargo pockets. The bonus of both this kilt and it’s predecessor is that the brushed nylon cloth makes it LOW MAINTENANCE. Unlike other kilts, this kilt can be rolled up and stuffed in your backpack – try that with most other kilts! I’ve got several brands of kilts, this is my choice for a daily, low maintenance, outdoorsy kilt. And did I add the “freedom factor” a kilt has?

4A cool and simple kilt
By Lumi
I’ve found this kilt to be comfortable, especially for hiking around on hot days–plenty of air circulation! The fabric is lightweight and cool. The pockets are kind of awkward, though–whatever I’m carrying bangs against my thighs, and they’re positioned so that they’re under the rear of my thighs when I sit. A Utilikilt would hold more stuff more comfortably, and is a sturdier garment–but it costs a whole lot more than the Mountain Hardwear kilt. This is a much more reasonably priced option.

5Incredibly comfortable and practical
By BluJai
I received this kilt as a gift from my wife. It is durable, functional and incredibly attractive. The fabric is forgiving and always looks good — whether just out-of-the-wash or after a hard day’s work. You never have to iron it! The cargo pockets are well positioned and hold their contents securely. A button clasp along the hem provides a skort-like appearance and functionality in more conservative places.

Overall I am very pleased with this article of clothing. The only disappointment is that there is only one color (currently) available. I’d love to purchase two or three more variants!
