If you label yourself as a high handicapper, you have potential, but must solve a heap of rudimentary problems.

Swing the club, don’t throw it.

To give yourself the best chance at hitting the green in regulation, you need to maximize your power off the tee without sacrificing control.

Your swing is competent of exerting a powerful natural strength on the clubhead. Work with this strength to help you swing the club rather than throwing it at the ball, which may result in each kind of bad shot. Even the best golfers tend to throw the clubhead on occasion, but here’s how to refrain from it.

Take your normal stance over the ball and look almost at your grip. Locate the point on the grip were the primary knuckle joint of the primary figure of your right hand contacts the club. That pad is the precise spot where you may sense the weight of the club allround your swing. Your goal is to create the sensation of clubhead weight versus this pressure point all the way through your swing. On the down swing, if you throw the clubhead at all, you’ll have lost that sense of clubhead weight and the club will feel very light. To refrain from this, concentrate on sentiment the sensation of the shaft lying versus your introductory finger pad all the way through impact. As you exercise this technique, you’ll swing the clubhead through affect with more consistency and power.

How to nail short approaches.

You plainly need good intention to knock down the flag, but for most players, getting it close is more a product of distance control. This is in particular unfeigned as you get closer to the green. Use the following drills to sharpen your distance control.

Full swings from 80 to 130 yards. Hit shots to a green on your range that is within this distance. Select a club that allows you to without apparent effort get your ball to the back of the green. Identify the back, middle and front of the green as your targets. If distance control is not your strength, try hitting assorted shots to the same target. Once you get proficient, start out rotating targets. Hit one ball to each target and move on.

Partial swings from 30 to 80 yards. Select five targets within these distances. Look for things like bare spots, leaves, tire marks, dark spots, bumps or gullys on the range.

The same rules apply here. The divergence is that there are now five targets covering a lot more distance. You may never be too good at distance control, and the rewards for the work you do will be prompt and substantial in the form of lower scores

5Great aide for keeping hands in correct position
By Dr Bob
I had used this item with an instructor and it was easy to see and feel the correct position of the hands/arms in the backswing. He said it was the only aide he recommends for purchase, even though there are many, many types on the market. I can see why this is all you need to correct a misalignment of the hands in the backswing.
It is easy to attach to the club for practice, using it is easy and after a short time, there is no need to continue as the hand position becomes automatic…
Money well spent!

5Outstanding Product!
By Scott K
This is the first review I have ever given a golf product. My swing was slowly self destructing this year. I developed a fade that was getting worse and worse. After realizing that it was not the clubs, I tried a couple different training aids. Finally, I saw the reviews on the swingyde. I ordered it and tried it. At first, it was not correcting my swing and then I realized that I was not following the directions.

After watching the DVD and reading the instructions again, I finally figured out what I was doing wrong. Shortly after, I was swinging perfectly.

In a nutshell, this device puts you in a great position on the takeaway and then also puts you in a perfect position at the finish. For those of us who have trouble “releasing the club”, this is the answer. After 20 minutes, my muscles started memorizing the swing path. I have now been using it daily for 20 minutes a night inside (which is very relaxing after the kids go to bed). This swingyde is the real deal and I am telling my family and friends about it.

I had a question and emailed the creator of the swingyde in Australia and he emailed me back the same day. He is a great guy and very helpful. I can’t recommend it enough!

5A Piece of Plastic!
By GameDayDog
The turn-off is the price, but I don’t regret buying it. I keep it attached to a spare club. This aid helps me focus on a flat left wrist at the top of my backswing. Then, it helps me develop lag by remaining in contact with my forearm during my downswing. In the follow thru, it helps keep my swing on-plane by coming back in contact with my forearm.

I buy training aids & do drills to improve my game. After a few months with a product, I’ll sell it on craigslist. I’ll sell the Swingyde, when I stop playing golf.
